Betty Pomerleau is an emerging artist based in Montreal. Her practice combines layers of video, choreography, music and text to create multimedia experiences that address the fragility and “vertiginousity” of communication in a time characterized by mediated experiences. Her aim is to raise questions about the effects of new digital visual media on our sense of personal narrative, as well as how these media affect our bodies. The complex arrangement of different disciplines creates performances / installations that blend pre-recorded elements with live elements in a way that is both disorienting and hypnotic.
