Kanad Chakrabarti (b. 1974, India) is an artist and writer, interested in technology as a tool of power. Currently his practice investigates existential risk (X-risk) arising from misaligned Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). Earlier work treated the Simulation Argument, as a conceptual scaffolding to jointly treat X-risk, AGI, and museumology. He has also looked extensively at the colonial and ecological aspects of nuclear weapons testing in the Pacific. Exhibitions include CAC Vilnius; ICA London; Queens Museum; Nottingham Contemporary; Whitechapel Gallery; CCA Glasgow.
